Somerset X.O.
XO Somerset Cider Brandy (50cl, 42% abv) is blended for age and quality. We have drawn upon over thirty years of experience to make this beautifully balanced spirit between the ages of 8 and 16 years old.
XO has been aged in small oak barrels and each bottle can be traced back to it's source orchard. It starts with a fruity, applely nose which leads into an elegant aromatic palate with notes of vanilla, followed by a long spicy, oak finish.

The cider, apple and orchard traditions of Somerset have been legendary for generations and this brandy represents the culmination of this knowledge. Rich, mellow and smooth. Aged for a minimum of 20 years in small oak barrels.
The progression in age is reflected in a fascinating development of flavour and complexity. From fresher, honeysuckle florality at 5 years old; deepening to nutty, prune-like and spicy notes as it ages to a full decade; reaching a mellow and velvety crescendo at 20 years old with baked apples, nutmeg and an exotic woody character.
Too good to mix with anything else. Drink it at room temperature and dream of Somerset orchards decades ago.

“I must confess the product is very good, a most respectable cousin to AOC Calvados, reminding us that for a period of time, Normandy and Britain were ruled by the same kings" Christian Drouin in The Art Of Calvados 2024.
Somerset Shipwreck Cider Brandy (50cl, 43% abv).
In 2007, en-route to South Africa, the MSC Napoli was beached off Devon. Its cargo included new, empty Allier oak barrels destined for The Cape’s finest vineyards. Some of the shipwrecked barrels found their way to us, having been protected from the sea by being packed among bibles written in Zulu. Maturing our brandy in these barrels gives a sophisticated finish worthy of single cask bottling. We now buy new barrels from the same cooperage. The finely grained new Allier oak is what creates the distinctive smoked, oaky taste of Shipwreck. It smells fruity but with smoke and oak and toasted apples and hints of mahogany. A smoky, sophisticated and distinctively oaky finish.
